OUR HISTORY

A second-generation REALTOR®, Sheryl Chinowth began her career working for her father’s business, which opened its doors more than 75 years ago, and quickly became a top producer, mentoring associates and managing offices. After moving to Tulsa and swiftly becoming the top agent in the city, Sheryl partnered with Lee Cohen, then one of the top commercial realtors in Oklahoma, to found and open Chinowth & Cohen REALTORS® in 2004. 

At its inception, the brokerage had only one office and 25 sales associates. Since then, the husband and wife duo, along with sons Leland and Taylor Chinowth, have grown the company to over 700 associates and 15 offices in Bartlesville, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Coweta, Grand Lake, Midtown Tulsa, Muskogee, Owasso, Sand Springs, Skiatook, and South Tulsa with upcoming offices in Wagoner and Glenpool. In 2020, Chinowth & Cohen expanded to the Oklahoma City area with offices in Nichols Hills and Edmond, after acquiring Churchill Brown & Associates. 

In less than two decades, Chinowth & Cohen has become the largest independent real estate company in Oklahoma. The regular recipient of some of the country and state’s most distinguished honors, including RealTrends #1 real estate company based on organic growth among independent privately-owned firms as well as dozens of local awards for “Best Real Estate Company,” Chinowth & Cohen has also built rigorous pre-license and post-license courses through its Real Estate Academy, which has four on-staff trainers and three training facilities throughout its offices. 

Chinowth & Cohen REALTOR® has the distinct honor of holding affiliations with Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, and Luxury Portfolio International. This places the brokerage in the largest referral network in the world, equipping agents with more opportunities for sales growth. 

Sheryl, Lee, Leland, and Taylor have also been committed to building an all-inclusive tool belt of real estate-related services and have built an umbrella of companies for agents and clients. This started in 2012, with the opening of Elite Title Services, which has grown to four offices in South Tulsa, Midtown Tulsa, Owasso, and Oklahoma City with nearly 30 staff members statewide. Chinowth & Cohen also made its 15-person, in-house marketing department a standalone marketing agency, forming Top Corner Marketing in 2019. In 2021, Chinowth & Cohen purchased American Property Management, expanding its existing property management division. They also partnered with Partners United Financial, a multi-state joint venture mortgage company formed in tandem with Newrez. These acquisitions and new companies allow Chinowth & Cohen, as a whole, to provide unparalleled real estate services to the entire state, ensuring a top-of-the-line home buying and selling process all under one roof.
